Job description
POSITION
The position is part of the Global Equipment Procurement Organization and is responsible for effective and efficient Purchasing management for the full global category of Food and Beverage. The total annual spend responsibility equals between $34 – $50MM globally. This is a complex portfolio and a broad scope of functional responsibilities needed to properly support the business, there is a large variety of suppliers and global footprint of supplier locations (Europe, Asia). The purchasing manager does not manage part of a portfolio but covers the full range of strategic coverage. This manager is highly valuable to the F&B Business with high organizational exposure and dependence
MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES
- Leading the Strategic Sourcing process to deliver purchasing savings, improve payment terms /working capital and fight inflation initiatives for F&B, managing supplier relationships and negotiations delivering the highest quality and lowest total cost equipment for the Global market;
- Lead or participating in cross-functional project team (with Marketing, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain) to identify and implement cost saving or quality improvement opportunities through product optimization, process harmonization, supply base rationalization and supply chain re-engineering;
- Driving and supporting cross-functional teams working on new product development and launch planning of innovation projects;
- Bring supplier development concepts and capabilities to the business – fully utilize suppliers in lieu of internal R&D support;
- Develop sourcing strategies for new and existing items that include supplier selection, ensuring un-interrupted supply and setting up 1-5 year supplier agreements, capacity planning, pricing terms/conditions and logistics;
- Ensuring that all development activities align with global purchasing process including appropriate confidentiality agreements, complete specifications and documentation, and eventual issuance of RFPs;
- Adhere to Global Purchasing Process such as SPM Supplier Performance Management system, monthly reporting and other purchasing processes.
- Facilitate activities for Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Logistics and other internal functions.
- Utilize and maintain various tools such as Price Forecasting, Salesforce for cost savings initiatives, Ariba for vendor setups and PO’s, SAP, Google Docs, Workday, and an aray of other IT solutions used to provide essential information and intelligence for the operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification;
- 5-8+ years’ experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain/Marketing positions. Knowledge of CTU portfolio is a plus;
- Demonstrated negotiation experience in prior position(s);
- Fluent in English;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Self-starter with ability to deal with ambiguity;
- Team player with drive for results and care for detail – collaborative;
- Experience with SAP;
- Ability to travel internationally (incl. Asia 1-2 times per year);
