Job Title: Project Engineer
Relocation Assistance Offered Within Country
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, leading and implementing improvements at the production processes and working methods. The Project Engineer manages multiple projects with varying scopes, timelines and ensures projected asset utilization and operating efficiency as well as safe operation by plant operators. The Project Engineer is also responsible for driving ideation, evaluation, prioritization and implementation of CEB Projects and Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects.
Essential Job functions:
- Identifies and specifies process or packaging equipment, develops technical specifications and layouts, defines electrical and controls requirements, and compiles project documentation.
- Lead the project execution for major capital investment projects by applying Project Management techniques; starting off from the conceptual engineering phase until final project completion by formal Hand-Over to the internal customer
- Develops and implements project Capital Expenditure Budgets. Provides project return on investment, savings and investment analysis
- Manages all technical and administrative aspects of investment projects. Develops and processes Manufacturing Work Orders. Monitors and manages ongoing project cost and adherence to budget and timelines
- Develops technical scopes using associated drawings and technical specifications to prepare a bid package for potential vendors.
- Oversees site preparation, installation of equipment, control systems, and associated utilities with contractors and internal maintenance personnel.
- Oversees start up and training of key personnel for new projects. Performs follow up and takes corrective actions.
- Transfers skills and knowledge through effective communication including Operator manuals, SOP’s, electronic bundle books, Continuous Improvement Reviews (CIR’s) and training concerning the operation of machines, processes and working methods.
- Establish and leverage structured systems and processes, with the objective to drive improvements to the plant’s Operational Excellence performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering is a prerequisite. Master degree would be a plus
- 5 years of experience in project management/engineering preferably in the food industry.
- Knowledge of and experience in leading and deploying CEB projects to improve plant Operational Excellence performance.
- Trained and experienced in using Continuous Improvement tools such as Kaizen and SMED
- Fluent in Italian and English
