SOLUTION ENGINEER
Overview
The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a technical role with focus on customer/partners and is part of the sales organization.
SE’s primary responsibility is to support the pre-sales process working alongside the sales team to identify customer’s needs and help them focusing on Powersoft products and solutions.
To be effective, an SE needs to have technical skills, knowledge of pro audio systems and fixed install solutions, and the ability to manage customers interactions .
The high-level objective is to support Sales team in achieving the allocated sales target and selling relevant Powersoft solutions and products in according to customers business needs, in partnership with the Sales Account Manager and Business Development Team.
From customer(s) perspective, the SE is a trusted adviser who proactively learns and understands their technical and business challenges and can propose efficient and effective solutions.
SE will be able to develop pre-sales activities conducting discovery calls, draft and deliver presentations demonstrating the features and the advantages of Powersoft solutions.
SE will also provide Tier2 Technical support (troubleshooting on system configuration and responding to inquiries by Customer (Key Accounts, System Integrators, Consultants, Distributors, Manufacturers…), engaging R&D team in case of severe issues and perform training activities to Customers.
SE actively works in cooperation with Business Development Department with the responsibility to explore vertical market and potential new Customers, taking independent leadership role in engaging Specifiers or Key Accounts according to the Sales team.
The role involves working closely with Sale representatives, Product management and R&D teams to grow the awareness and reputation of the Powersoft product range and collecting insight from Customers and Markets for supporting product roadmap definition.
Solution Engineer will be based in Powersoft HQ premises in Florence and, while encouraging remote/virtual meetings with Customers, the nature of the role could require travel up to 50% of the time and working across time zones .
Responsibility and duties
· Support all pre-sales phases with specifiers, partners, potential customer, according to sales team providing specification advice, product analysis, technical information, designing customized solutions for customer’s projects and systems configuration support.
· Develop and deliver product /solution presentations and demonstrations, and identify technical requirements of current and potential customers.
· Provide operational support to major installation projects or performance PA systems through remote assistance and on-site system commissioning.
· Analyse tenders document for supporting potential customer and system integrator submission and create technical documents about the specific proposed solution.
· Delivery of technical sales training for specifiers, house accounts, manufacturer, and distribution partners.
· Pro-actively represent Powersoft and grow brand awareness with key system integrators, consultants, and end-users through tradeshows, client’s visits…
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering or Electronic/Telecommunication
· At least 3 years of experience with design and installation of AV systems
· Understanding of IT networks
· Training skills (host and handle technical training classes)
· Customer-oriented attitude
· Teamwork and active-listening skills
· Problem-solving abilities
· Self-motivation and able to work for targets
· Familiar in using Windows OS, Network tools, Office suite, CRM system
· Fluent English, speaking and writing
· Availability to traveling 50% of the time
Qualifications that would be a plus
· At least 2 years of experience in selling solutions and/or bid management (also not ProAudio)
· Able to speak a 2nd and/or 3rd language
· Understanding of audio distribution protocols, like Dante, AES67, AVB, Milan…
· Familiarity with control systems like Crestron, QSC, Symetrix…
