Role Title: Engineering Specialist
Role Function and Group: Global Engineering
Location: Vado Ligure - Savona
Position Summary:
This is a full-time position responsible for project engineering duties in the Infineum Italia chemical plant, Vado Ligure. The principle responsibilities are to progress and steward approved capital projects from project funding to completion, by applying a disciplined approach to the project engineering process. The role will support developing projects through detailed design and developing execution plans while achieving stated goals (i.e. safety, improvement, ROI, reliability, sustainability). The position requires interfacing and collaborating with site management, operations and maintenance, global engineering as well as engineering and construction contractors. The candidate should be able to work in self-directed and collaborative environments, while maintaining a high level of accountability to the project outcome.
This position will be based at Vado Ligure but will be part of the Global Engineering Team. Therefore she/he will be required to participate to the Global Engineering Communities of Practices and to contribute to the success of projects in other Infineum locations.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver project based on customer’s needs and project goals, with no compromise on HSSE.
- Progress project from detailed design to construction using project procedures, holding interface meetings, setting schedules and follow-up on issues with internal and external technical support.
- Leverage Project Management skills and understanding of Infineum business practices to lead contractors as required.
- Lead Integrated Project Team (IPT).
- Develop stewardship reports.
- Develop Project Execution Plans (PEP) during FEED phase.
- Support the tracking of year-to-date capital and expense budgets to local and global interfaces.
- Participate in global networks involved with improving the development process and sharing process design experience.
- Any additional responsibilities as assigned.

A successful candidate is likely to have:
- Education: Engineering Degree (chemical, mechanical, electrical).
- 5-10 years Project Management experience; PMP Certification and/or MBA a plus. Strong preference for at least 3-year experience as process designer or plant engineer.
- Excellent Italian and English - verbal and written. Italian language knowledge is a key requisite to work effectively with all Vado Ligure based colleagues and contractors.
- Attention to detail, strong commitment to HSSE , sustainability and quality values; motivation to acquire knowledge of design practices and process safety standards.
- Self-driven and enthusiastic about Project Execution and overall continuous improvement of execution processes.
- Self-directed and proactive worker; strong team player in collaborative and leading situations.
- Ability to interact with organizational levels both horizontally and vertically.
- Clear and concise written as well as verbal communication skills.
