Purpose of the Position:
Lead one of the team of the SAP Services to deliver high-quality, innovative and customer-focused system support to multiple clients. The team lead will support the teams under their scope in technical design, major problem resolution and implementing complex integrations. The team lead will coordinate with the other Operations Division (OP) team leads and Heads of Unit to transform the current ERP services to new services that will meet the long-term goals of UNICC customers. The incumbent will also provide technical support for the provision of SAP-based ERP services.
Objectives of the Programme:
The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of the SAP unit (OPOS) within the Operations Division (OP) and in close collaboration with the On-Premise Services (OPO) team. The incumbent could be requested to do any others tasks of similar level in related fields. The incumbent will:
In close collaboration with Head, OPOS, lead, guide and coach the technical team members delivering SAP Shared Services, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
Design, Produce and update documentation including SOPs and standard procedures to maintain clarity and consistency
Ensure that all team activities are prioritized and coordinated effectively, monitoring team capacity to optimize productivity
Provide technical support for Managed SAP Hosting services provided by UNICC, including system administration of SAP technology components
Implement new SAP instances as required and Migrate application customisations from “pre-production” environment(s) to the production environment(s)
Perform scheduled and on-demand instance refreshes, client copy, maintenance, and disaster recovery tests
Co-ordinate with the application and database vendors for resolution of functional bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges
Provide technical support for the client’s ERP development team
Plan and conduct disaster recovery tests
Provide assistance in landscape design
Perform routine production support activities, incident management, and troubleshooting of SAP-related issues
Undertake performance tuning activities to optimize system performance and reliability
Implement project-type activities and other requests for services to meet client needs and expectations
Provide support during maintenance windows and emergencies, including on-site or remote assistance
Offer stand by and on-call support as required to maintain service availability and continuity
Other: Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
Five (5) or more of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Extensive experience in SAP technical architecture design, installation, configuration and administrator support, including prior experience regarding the following items:
Creation of new instances, migration of code, patching and environment refreshes, implementation and support of backup
Extensive upgrade/migration projects, i.e. Ehp8 Upgrade and Oracle to HANA DB migration
Monitoring status, using Solution Manager to determine status of various components
Usage of System Copy, Client transports and performance fine tuning
Experience in managing SAP workload in HA and DR environments, both with Oracle and HANA databases
In-depth knowledge and experience in administrating and managing Oracle and HANA databases
Prior experience in managing and coaching a team
Familiarity with IT project and service management standards, frameworks, methodologies and best practices such as PRINCE2, ITIL
Ability to manage projects and work productively under pressure, even when clear direction and/or information in not always available
Extensive knowledge and experience in administrating and managing Netweaver 7.0 platform (ECC 6.0, BW 7.0, Portal 7.0, Process Integration 7.0 and Solution manager) in both Windows and Linux environments
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Service Level Management Principles
Desirable:
Experience with multiple SAP Implementations, OS/DB Migrations and SAP Upgrade projects
Knowledge of SAP Landscape design and sizing
Knowledge of High availability products and Disaster Recovery Planning/Test Perl Scripting experience
Knowledge of Windows and RHEL clusters
Experience in performing database backup and recovery using SAP BR tools
Experience in SAP Portal and ESS/MSS components and JAVA systems monitoring and performance tuning
Education*:
Essential:
First university degree in Computer Sciene, Information Science, Mathematics or related field
Desirable:
ITIL Foundation Certificate
PRINCE2 certification
Languages:
English: Expert knowledge is required
Spanish: Beginner knowledge is desirable

Compensation:
Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):
Brindisi (Italy), including post adjustment (27,5% on February 2024): US$ 79,932.
Valencia (Spain), including post adjustment (34,3% on February 2024): US$ 84,195.
