R&D Testing & Lab Specialist

In this position, you will execute tests on different Medium Voltage (MV) devices using your knowledge of standard references and testing methodologies, investigating and resolving critical product issues, optimizing processes, and verifying product compliance.
In this role, you will analyze and document test results for use in the development of new products, as well as defining the details, test sequences, testing methods and procedures, and equipment and instrumentation to be used.

R&D Team Lead
Your responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and/or electrical tests according with the planning and priorities on MV products (Circuit Breaker, Switchgear and Switching).
- Preparing, reviewing, managing, and updating documents (drawings, draft report and type test report).
- Ensuring that prototypes are correctly assembled, tests are correctly performed, and activities are thoroughly reported.
- Assisting external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB products and external customer products.
- Collaborate with team members about test operations, processes and safety.
- Proposing improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment.
Your background
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Physic is preferable. Also secondary school education will be considered.
- 2 years of experience in Testing or Calibration Laboratories, Quality dept. and R&D dept. working as Engineer with experiences on Measurements and Product Development.
- Sound knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical measurement, Electrical Diagram, Testing equipment and Automatic Testing Machine.
- Knowledge of MW 10, Office and Outlook. LabVIEW is a must.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- English language: B1 level, Italian language: It is a must.
- Current B driving licenses valid in Italy.
