Position Summary

Manager of embedded software engineering works within light vehicle electrification business unit (LV EV BU) and owns the Base Software (BSW) and diagnostics aspect of software within eAxle system. In this capacity, the manager work with his/her team in support of program backlog in electrification, demonstration vehicles, and other activities such as integration activities with software product.

Main Responsibilities

• Create and manage roadmap for best-in-class embedded software for various eAxle technologies and related accessories such as park lock, disconnecting, multi-speed, etc.
• Lead the team of global embedded software engineers to create and manage embedded software platform based on AUTOSAR (classic and/or adaptive) to support the global LV EV BU’s current and future programs.
• Lead, collaborate or support all activities related to embedded software development processes to satisfy industry standards such as AITF, ASPICE, ISO26262 and ISO21434.
• Create and manage a competence matrix of the embedded software team, identify current and future gaps and plan to close them based on need, budget, market shifts, etc.
• Lead or support all activities related to embedded software features, integration of modules and release of software for internal and external consumption.
• Support testing and troubleshooting of system behavior in collaboration with other engineering teams and customers.
• Work with cross-functional teams, collaborate and effectively communicate vision, roadmap, tasks, and issues within software development team.

Job Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience of embedded software (preferably AUTOSAR environment) electrification or related Automotive domain.
• Demonstratable experience in leading global teams, creating roadmaps, and executing production programs in automotive.
• Ability to create work break down structure related to embedded software, provide estimates to complete work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• AGILE development experience (preferred)


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Strong Software architecture and design background.
• Ability to write software in C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink
• Ability to configure AUTOSAR stack such as MCAL, BSW, OS, RTE, etc. Preferable stack is from Vector.
• Ability to multi-task effectively on projects and assignments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
