As a subsidiary of a large group, Ajinomoto Foods Europe develops a range of consumer products in Europe, offering French and Japanese food products to both BtoC and BtoB customers. It primarily supplies supermarkets and restaurants. The company has two production sites in France and its European headquarters in Paris, where about fifty people are based (HR, Controlling, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and General Management). Outside of France, it employs around twenty people (in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain). Its workforce is continuously expanding. Role Ajinomoto is creating a first position of Key Account Manager in Italy based in Milano. Reporting to the Sales Manager Food Service Southern Europe, the Key Account Manager will join a team of 6 members 4 based in France and 2 in Spain. The role will take responsibility for the Food Service business in Italy by developing a portfolio of existing direct and indirect customers. Audit of the market through its stakeholders, recommendation, and suggestion of business plan. Identification, validation of customer partners. Conquest of market share through the increase of the penetration and frequency of use of the brand Ajinomoto in the Asian Food service. Main responsibilities: Actively contribute to the deployment and development of the Food Service sales strategy in Italy; Develop the turnover of Asian food service distributors; Identify potential new distribution partners; Develop the activity of Ajinomoto with the main brands of Asian supermarkets in Italy; Develop an activity with the big chains of the Asian restaurant; Maintain and develop a trusting relationship with each customer: the role is to become the preferred contact for customers and to develop a powerful internal relationship network within its various departments covering its entire activity: purchasing, sales, marketing, supply, etc.; Organize and participate in activities necessary for sales development: exhibitions, tastings, events, etc.; Activate customers regularly through promotional and animation mechanisms; Coordinate with the other members of the sales team who follow the activity of European partner wholesalers; Regular acquisition of new user clients; Ensure the follow-up of all customer accounts, logistics, contract, quality, etc., with the support of the support teams; Monitor competition, benchmark, and analyse consumer trends in Japanese food and beverage products; Regular trips to Italy to meet customers and monthly in France. Requirements Consolidated business experience of at least 8 years, ideally at least 3 years in the Food Service sector or very similar sector/product/market such as frozen food, fresh food, grocery, beverage in general but with a specific business model via distributors or key account management for end users (horeca chains, etc.); Distinctive business acumens and strong sales development skills; Knowledge of the sales logic of B2B Consumer/FMCG connected to wholesaler, distributors, dealers and chain/buying groups’ network; Fluent in Italian, very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
