Capgemini is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Actuarial Hub for a top 10 US Insurance Carrier. Location: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia or Mexico. As the Head of Actuarial Hub, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of actuaries and overseeing actuarial operations to support the client's insurance business. You will collaborate closely with the client's leadership team to develop strategic actuarial roadmaps and provide insights to drive business decisions. Our client is one of the United States' largest insurers ("Client"), providing a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premium well over US$25 Billion (P&C). Further, it is part of one the largest Insurance Groups in the world. They proudly serve more than 10 million U.S. households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 18,500 employees. Under their new long-term strategy, our client is looking to diversify their workforce skills and have therefore teamed up with Capgemini to develop Shared Services Centers of Excellence in different locations outside the US. One of those Service Centers is related to Actuarial services encompassing Loss Reserving, CAT modeling and Capital Management in a first stage, with Pricing and UW analysis capabilities to follow in a second stage. This Executive position will work with Client management and Capgemini to lead the construction of the Actuarial Hub. Responsibilities will include the initial operational setup, resource hiring and management, and development of the governance structure and Service Level Agreements with the US based team. It is expected that this senior leader develops and maintains strong relationships with Finance, Claims, Risk Management and Product Management teams within the organization, and works closely with the outside audit firm supporting the external audit process. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator capable of representing the Chief Actuary in key committees including Exposure Management, Audit, Investment, Risk Management, Global Actuarial Leadership Council, etc. The person we select to lead the Actuarial Hub will have to live up the High-Performance standards that are the backbone of the Client culture. Key expectations of this role include: Overall Expectations: Drive a high-performance culture by 1) initiating change as it relates to financial modeling in a dynamic business environment 2) making effective and sound decisions with speed, 3) being innovative and practical with the customer in mind 4) managing ambiguity and working through setbacks 5) establishing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders 6) managing complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders. Reserving Specific Expectations: Prepare and execute in-depth actuarial analyses, covering loss projections, technical reserve calculations for gross and reinsurance layers and cash flow projections. Provide expert actuarial support and advice to the P&C business unit's Finance, Accounting, Reporting, and Underwriting leadership, crafting executive summaries, quarterly results, briefings on loss reserving issues and delivering insights on portfolio performance. Act as business partner to the P&C executive Underwriting, Pricing and Finance teams, supporting product development and ratemaking. Help in managing regulatory interactions on reserving and solvency topics. Coordinate the provision of reserving and solvency information in accordance with statutory requirements. Capital Management Specific: Manage capital modeling teams and prioritize multiple projects through efficient time management. Typical planned activities include: Leading the process and preparation of all regular reporting, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis utilizing capital modeling outputs; coordinating responses to rating agency inquiries and various internal and external data calls; and responding to financial exams and other regulatory requests. Special projects include: quantifying the impact of potential enterprise-wide strategic initiatives on surplus position; providing capital allocation for the development of a risk budget; building, maintaining, and enhancing long-term solvency models and modeling strategies; evaluating alternative models and strategies when necessary; and coordination with key internal stakeholders in the analysis and management of solvency risk. Function as primary capital modeling point-of-contact for internal (business units) stakeholders. Develop and enhance economic capital models and solvency risk management processes aligned with the company's enterprise risk management framework. Ensure the accuracy, integrity and delivery of all data requests related to capital model outputs, including analysis of results and other data analytics. Support other departments that utilize outputs from the capital modeling platforms. Translate complex technical and actuarial concepts to support sound business decisions. Maintain expertise of model workings, differences, functional capabilities, and changes while keeping internal stakeholders updated on current methodologies and processes related to capital modeling. CAT modeling Specific: Run and maintain all the enterprise CAT models, manage the CAT modeling team and provide the analysis and insights to the Finance, Risk and Underwriting department and support the company's exposure management, reinsurance optimization and cat load assessment for financial planning and forecasting purposes. UW / Pricing Specific (Future Stage): Help stablishing the pricing strategy consistent with enterprise goals, performing regular in-depth analysis on trends to inform financial plans and combined ratio forecasts, developing countrywide pricing targets, advancing actuarial tools and methodologies, partnering with Corporate Actuarial on reserving processes, and supporting the development of actuarial talent throughout Personal Lines. Requirements Responsibilities: Build and manage a high-performing actuarial team to support the client's business objectives. Develop and implement strategic actuarial roadmaps to drive business decisions. Provide technical guidance and expertise to the actuarial team. Collaborate closely with the client's leadership team to provide actuarial insights and recommendations. Ensure compliance with actuarial and regulatory standards. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelors degree in an analytical field (mathematics, engineering, actuarial science, economics, atmospheric or natural science) required. Membership in a Actuarial Society or equivalent professional qualification is preferred but not required. Minimum of 10 years of experience in actuarial roles within the insurance industry or as a consultant to Insurers Prior experience in managing actuarial teams and leading actuarial operations. Strong knowledge of actuarial methodologies, insurance products, and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
