, ArgentinaJob Family Group:Process EngineeringWorker Type:RegularPosting Start Date:January 31, 2024Business unit:Integrated Gas and UpstreamExperience Level: Experienced ProfessionalsJob Description: Within the Shales project organization, the Process Engineer Sr. Lead is responsible for providing critical Process Engineering Assurance and Flow Assurance support to all the Assets and various concurrent green field and brownfield project activities in Argentina and Canada. These activities include Process input to process safety, competitive scoping, design development, equipment sizing, model validation, MOC support, HAZ-Op and facility design reviews, Process troubleshooting, Performance tests with improvement monitoring, debottlenecking modeling, and operating envelope definition. The Flow assurance aspects will include Wax management (along with hydrates) strategy development, flow assurance strategies, liquid management and erosional analysis including sand management.Accountabilities:The Process Engineer's prime focus will be to provide safe, pragmatic technical guidance and assurance to Projects and to Operations as needed support. Actively supporting multi discipline scope deliveries within the Project delivery team and front-end project development. This includes technical and lean scoping leadership as well as assurance to Engineering Contractor organization to ensure engineering is safe, fit-for purpose, compliant to Shell standards and Shales Americas' portfolio requirement specification (PRS) requirements. Besides maintaining the Process aspects to the PRS (including design philosophies), is also expected to get involved into range of activities i.e., field visits for process modeling, troubleshooting, design reviews, MOCs, hazard assessments, and safeguarding memorandums. Based on scope, he/she will also get involved in field changes, optimization advice and on demand incident investigation which provide important lessons learned to optimize the P&T delivery scopes. He/she will closely work together with e.g. Operations Managers, Asset Engineering team managers, Project managers, project & facility engineers, Process TA1/GDH and other discipline engineers to ensure all aspect of scope is covered.Dimensions:Argentina (Neuquén) Asset will be the focus for this role but needed to support Canadian (Gold Creek (GC), Groundbirch (GB)) also when required. Current Capital spend for Shales Asset is ~$1B and for surface facilities it is ~$350M with potential for increase over next couple years. Process Engineering advice and assurance is intended to improve Shales facilities production targets, up-time and margin. The Lead Process Engineer contributes to cost efficient execution of capital projects allowing for expected reliability, efficient maintenance, and sustainability of margin.Requirements· Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal stakeholders, customers, and service providers. You'll display courage and professionalism in people management, lead, develop and foster an open culture within the team to drive for success.· Self-starter with a hands-on approach and "can do" mentality. Has the analytical capability to identify and solve complex project & Operations related Process challenges and execution problems using a risk-based approach.· High degree of initiative and independence to deliver results through others. Effective stakeholder management is essential to identify and understand (business) requirements and translate these into delivering innovative and sustainable value solutions.· Minimum of bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process Engineering, or equivalent. · Eligibility for Process TA2/3 with vast upstream processing expertise as well as project scope delivery experience through DCAF.· Fluent communication in Spanish and English language.· Minimum 14+ years' experience in Oil & Gas industry with at least 5 years in projects (FEED, Detailed engineering and execute phases) and most of the experience in Upstream business. Exposure to Unconventional PRS, design philosophies, and Project execution is highly preferred. Knowledge on sour gas injection and Sulphur recovery unit is an added advantage.· Experience with CAPEX Cost estimating processes is preferred. · Good listening, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, good team working skills in multi-cultural environment.· Demonstrated ability to manage engineering contractor counterparts in cost Reimbursable contracting environment including, Holding Contractor accountable for sound discipline specific requirements; Effectively cooperating to meet project safety, quality, schedule and cost targets; and challenge delay due to interference with contractor's work and/or not meeting Contractor response cycle times.· High knowledge of the HSE regulations, national & international (ISO) standards & codes.· Able to cope under pressure and proven personal drive to deliver according to agreed deadlines. Having strong written / verbal communications is a must.· Maintains good work relationships and ensures cooperation between all parties involved, champion change and overcome resistance.· Able to deliver within defined scope, timing, and budget.· Able to work with constantly changing priorities (MoC, Projects, new initiatives).· Challenge the status quo (where necessary) and look for opportunities to deliver simpler, catalog-based designs.· Skill in Separation technology, liquids recovery and stabilization.· Skill in Flare system review and design.· Skill in multiphase flow modeling, design and pipeline liquid handling.· Skill in using process engineering design tools such as UniSim, PipeSim and Shell Process Engineering spreadsheets.· Knowledge of working according to LEAN approach with good ability to weigh cost vs benefit (risk based) design approach to preserve the competitive scope.· Ability to think "out of the box" and come up with innovative solutions focusing on continuous technical improvement.· Some travel to field locations required to support Operations troubleshooting / optimization and Commissioning/Startup of projects.Expected core competences:o Process Safety o Process Unit Design o Process Unit Operations Support (Support process operations in the reliable running of the unit(s) to meet production (quantity and quality) requirements, safely, economically and with due regard for the environment by the application of process technology knowledge )o Concept Developmento Process Control & Real-Time Optimization o Process Design Integrator – (For capital Project integrate the different contributions of all discipline specialists)o Process Modelling and Analysis o Energy, Utilities & Water o Multiphase flow & Pipeline flow assurance Additional InformationThe Shales Project & Technology is a great place to work with ample learning and development opportunities for employees who are looking to deepen and broaden their technical and professional skills.
