The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in South America, is working together to source a highly capable and motivated professional to join our LATAM team.
 
The Role
As the Permitting Lead, you will support the work of the area of Projects, as it is part of the Glencore E&P team to identify and obtain the different environmental and sector permits for the development of the Project in Catamarca, Argentina, and ensure the viability of the project by the schedule established for its construction and start-up.

 
The Responsibilities

Identify the sectoral and environmental permits applicable to each Project phase, analyze the requirements of the different operational and service areas, and define a work plan for each required permit. 

Manage technical information requirements and reviews with specialists from other Project management areas associated with their specific topics, eg: social, environmental, engineering, among others.

Prepare environmental and sectoral permit files related to the Project, coordinating external teams and reviewing the technical information sent by the technical areas.

Technically support the E&P leader in the development of the strategy and action plan to provide responses to the authority in response to observations and in permit addendums. Participate in the action plan or response to the authority in case the permit is rejected or has to be rectified.

Support the E&P Leader in responding to observations raised during inspections or visits by the authority, which are directly related to the files and information of the permits under his/her responsibility.

 
The Requirements

Environmental Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Natural Resources and Environment Engineer, preferably with postgraduate studies in project management (desirable).

10 years of experience in similar positions desirable in Large Mining projects. With knowledge of the mining field in Catamarca – Argentina.

Background in Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact, Environmental Impact Statement and Communication Processes systems.

Knowledge of international standards such as IFC, ICMM.

Knowledgeable of current National and Local Legislation*.

Use of Microsoft Office, PDF, ArcGis, AutoCad and MS Project.

English at intermediate level (written and oral).

Availability to work on site basis within a 4×3 roster in Argentina (Catamarca)*.
