The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in South America, is working together to source a highly capable and motivated professional to join the Glencore Copper Project LATAM team.
 
The Role
The purpose of this role is to be accountable for the delivery of the Human Capital studies for the MARA Feasibility (gap closure) Definition Study in line with Glencore Copper’s Project Definition Guidelines and Standards. The key focus of the role is leading the planning, execution, and documentation of the Human Capital study program to support the completion of the MARA Definition Study. The scope will include the planning and execution of Human Capital data collation initiatives, stakeholder engagement, options identification & analysis, and proposal of HR strategies and plans for the construction phase of the project and new operations (including operational readiness).

 

 
The Responsibilities

In conjunction with stakeholders, develop a vision of desired HR practices and end-state for future operation.

Analyses current practices against relevant (international/regional/internal) benchmarks to identify possible areas for improvement within HR design elements of the study.

Assesses business requirements, capital/working cost requirements, employee requirements, and socio-economic aspects related to the development of a range of alternative HR strategies.

Engages with stakeholders to identify and develop acceptance of preferred strategies/alternatives.

Leads detailed design, development, and implementation of preferred alternatives through engagement of stakeholders to ensure appropriate uptake of solutions.

Leads preparation of all HR strategies for the Construction Phase, as required by the Feasibility Study Report.

Prepares the Transition plan (all people-related aspects), incorporating mobilization, training, and handover, between commissioning and operation staff.

Consolidates deliverables in HR Study chapter for Feasibility, and Project Execution Plan for Construction Phase. Contributes to Construction, Operational Readiness & other relevant chapters/components of the Feasibility Report. 

 
The Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or allied fields.

12 – 15 plus years of mining industry experience across mining operations, and major capital studies and construction projects.

Demonstrated experience in the successful design and delivery of an integrated suite of strategic HR projects.

Demonstrated experience in persuading and selling concepts to senior managers and stakeholders.

High degree of business acumen.

Proven Strategic thinking skills (including the ability to think innovatively & solve problems)

Motivated self-starter with a high energy level, action orientation, and ability to follow through to completion.

Ability to facilitate broad-ranging change.

Able to build cooperative and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Bilingual in Spanish / English.

Travel to the MARA site in Argentina’s Catamarca Province at an altitude of ~4500m.
