Senior Audit Manager - Regional Public Accounting
Shelton, CT
$130K to $160K+ Bonus
Great growth potential in this role. Must live in or near the Milford, CT area. This person can perform most engagements with little supervision. There are currently members on the team that have 3-5 years of public accounting experience and we need someone to lead them on their assignments. Someone who has at least 5 years of somewhat recent public audit experience. A CPA, or the ability to attain, is required. They must be able to supervise the work of staff accountants and senior accountants, and are capable of making decisions on most accounting and auditing matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Complete understanding and ability to follow policies and procedures.
· Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants.
· Proficient at accounting and auditing research including a working knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm.
We are looking for someone who can supervise our current senior & staff level auditors. Someone who can run the job & the staff.
· Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including Excel, UltraTax, ProSystem Engagement and PowerPoint; and firm tax preparation and time and billing software.
· Evaluate the performance of staff accountants / auditor.
· Plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of an audit engagement.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Involves work in the firm's office or on the client's premises.
· Must present a positive public image that enhances the client's perception of the employee and the firm as a whole.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Audit Managers normally have a minimum of Five + years' experience.
Ability to work independently on assigned task as well as to accept direction
· Must have good interpersonal and communication skills; and the ability to interact professionally with outside contacts. Examples of outside contacts include, but are not limited to clients and client personnel, government agency officials and bankers
