What Position Is in Store Next
The Divisional Trainer will play a big role in training staff at multiple locations to support the Ops team.
Where You’ll Be
- This position is a Hybrid position with regular local travel by vehicle. Up to 50% overnight travel by vehicle or airplane and overnight stays.
- Tasks are regularly performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, chemicals and traffic hazards.
- Work week is Monday through Saturday (except company holidays). 40+ hours per week. Store hours (May vary by location): Monday – Saturday 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Must reside in or near the Atlanta GA area.
T he pay range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000.

Success is measured by the performance results of the employee(s) being trained. The Divisional Trainer will report directly to the Corporate Trainer.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Responsible for guiding the Regional Trainers and Designated Training Managers in developing their teammates, both new hires and veteran employees.
- Responsible for guiding all employees on company and operational policies, including drafting updated procedures for approval.
- Foster a culture of teamwork & optimism for all Devon Self Storage employees, both virtually and out in the field.
- Lead by example with strong organization, an analytical mindset, consistency in adhering to protocol, and timely execution of deliverables.
- Demonstrate critical thinking & decision-making strengths which help the store teams identify trends & resolve issues within their team that prohibit KPI enhancement.
- Report directly to the Corporate Trainer on any issues pertaining to onboarding, training, procedures, and performance.
- Assist with issues at the site level including, but not limited to, new store openings, staffing shortages, auction or collection clean up, and multi-unit incidents.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Coach and lead the Regional Trainers to meet or exceed training standards and goals.
- Provide direct hands-on training to new and existing employees.
- Demonstrate the sales process and other customer contact points with live customers.
- Ensure that all store standards are consistently met including, but not limited to safety, cleanliness, security, customer service, etc. during store visits.
- Provide feedback to the Corporate Trainer, Director of Operations & Regional Directors on what hurdles or successes you’ve observed when working with the Regional Trainers.
Required Education, Experience and Credentials
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Prior training experience
- Prior customer service experience
- Valid Driver’s License – Must have the minimum required liability auto insurance in accordance with your states law.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree
- 2 - 4 years management experience in a retail or sales environment
Physical Demands
To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to:
- Talk and hear, read, write understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language.
- Must be able to read written instructions , leases, manuals, and diagrams.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing. Regular use of hands for feeling, grasping or manipulating objects, tools, or controls. Occasional using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regular operation of computers, cash register, telephone and printer/copier/scanner/fax.
- Regular operation of automobiles, golf cart and other equipment.
- Regular site walkthroughs, requiring an on-foot inspection of the full property.
- Must be willing to carry out routine cleaning at the facility, including but not limited to, restrooms, drive aisles, storage spaces, etc.
