Our U.S. team is growing! We currently seek a System Administrator in our U.S. headquarters in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The System Administrator is responsible for supporting client's servers, storage and network in a 24/7 production environment. The System Administrator is integral to the customer relationship and ensures that our customers receive systems support at all times.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides operational administrative and configuration support for our highly available server landscapes
- Operates as the second level support for trouble-shooting issues in the areas of servers, storage, and network
- Executes error analysis of various server systems on a regular basis
- Monitors, configures and maintains server and storage hardware
- Manage problem resolutions with third party vendors (Microsoft, HPE, VMware)
- Works independently, with little direction and authority to make decisions for best operational results
- Exhibits strong customer service, communication and partnership skills, internally and externally
- Has excellent time management skills, balancing proactive and reactive system monitoring activities
Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years of experience with productive systems in the server and hardware environment (HPE ProLiant Servers), preferably in a 24/7 operation
- Deep understanding of Windows Server OS 2012R2, 2016 and 2019
- Working knowledge of virtualization environments (VMware) storage infrastructures (HPE 3PAR, VMware vSAN) as well as backup solutions ( Data Protector, Veeam)
- Proven experience of Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Failover Clustering and Remote Desktop Services preferred
- Experience with monitoring tools and patch management
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team in an employee friendly shift model
Education & Experience
- Associates degree in an IT related discipline required
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline preferred
- Microsoft certification MCP / MCSA preferred
Scheduling & Travel
- This role is required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays at our U.S. headquarters in Arlington Heights, Illinois
- Must be available for to travel to Germany for 3-4 weeks of training immediately after hire
