The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, five medical centers, three national labs and more. Position Summary The UCPath Digital Communication Specialist independently creates and deploys digital communications at UCPath to convey the UCPath image and brand across external digital platforms, such as social media and UCPath websites, and internal platforms, such as SharePoint, business presentations, video, e-newsletters. The Digital Communications Specialist will have demonstrated skills in community management, social media content development, digital design and website management.
Key Responsibilities · 25% Devise and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with UCPath's vision and mission and aligned with UCPath's communication strategy. Work with UCPath leadership to develop a social media policy. Develop a social media style guide that aligns with UCOP brand guidelines and UCPath image and voice.
· 25% Manage and grow UCPath's social media presence, leverage analytics, and demonstrate effectiveness; measure and report social media ROI and insights, and adjust strategies to maximize value. Innovate and produce engaging content, including visuals, biweekly newsletters, blog posts, videos, threads carousels and other imaginative imagery.
· 25% Use content management systems such as HubSpot, Sprout Social, Hootsuite or similar technology to schedule content and perform efficient social listening. Monitor social media channels, actively engage with the online community, and address comments and messages. Maintain and update the UCPath Jobs website, and work closely with UCOP IT to maintain and improve the UCPath website. Maintain UCPath employee-facing platforms and communications, including UCPath portal banners and employee notification systems.
· 25% Utilize issues management experience to ensure efficient and effective communication during critical situations. Design assets for internal events, special programs, stakeholder content and employee engagement. Provide internal business communication support as required, contributing to a cohesive organizational messaging approach. Edit communications developed by others for clarity, audience fit and accuracy. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to consistently elevate UCPath's digital footprint.
Experience Required Qualifications
· Min 5 years digital communications, marketing or related field
Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications
· Proven track record in community management and growing social media platforms
· Proficient in creating impactful social media content, coupled with journalistic finesse
· Comprehensive, thorough understanding of AP style guidelines, grammar and composition
· Experience in issues management, ideally within a digital communication context
· Proficient in measuring social media ROI and conveying insights to organizational decision-makers
· Proficient in devising and executing social media strategies
· Demonstrated aptitude in crafting visually captivating multimedia content
· Thorough technical skills with design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent software
· Thorough organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
· A collaborative spirit, thorough interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous exposure to newsroom dynamics
Education Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related area and / or equivalent experience / training
SALARY AND BENEFITS The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

Full Salary Range: $71,700 - $128,700

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at the UCPath Center in Riverside and remote in California.
