SPA assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to military services and COCOMs. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.

 

Systems Planning and Analysis has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer.

 

We are looking for a candidate that will exercise excellent personal initiative, professional savviness, and interpersonal communication skills. Additionally, t he successful candidate will demonstrate the willingness and ability to research, learn, and advise on new areas of knowledge.

Provides critical applied scientific and technical analytic support to the Urgent Solutions Division in the Counter WMD Technologies Department of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Conducts assessments, demonstrations, analysis, and other decision making in support of counter WMD technology development. 

 

Works on advanced, complex technical projects requiring knowledge of circuitry and componentry. Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining, and sensor analysis. Designs, develops, and implements technical solutions in support of concurrent analysis. Oversees and contributes to DoD advanced technology development supporting development of Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) capabilities. Provides technical input to program management. 

 

Work is onsite in Reston, VA. Travel required up to 25%. Due to the nature of this work, remote/telework is not feasible and is only authorized on occasion by exception.
