As a CO+I Senior Critical Environment Program Manager, Regional , you will perform a key role in delivering and managing the critical environment infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. As part of the America’s Datacenter Operations team, the Senior Critical Environment Program Manager, Regional will provide leadership and direction driving the continuous development and improvement of our Critical Environment Operation and Maintenance Programs. In this role you will work collaboratively with all CO+I stakeholders to support, enable, and influence the vision and action necessary for the organization’s overall availability success.
Responsibilities
Providing direction, guidance, and oversight on projects, programs, and initiatives for the Critical Environment (CE) discipline of Data Center Field Operations (DCO).
Regional view of datacenter application of CE Policy and Standards to drive consistency and best practice adoption.
Own and drive resolution of identified gaps in CE programs to allow Data Centers (DC) to achieve more.
Serve as the primary point of contact for field teams to submit Critical Environment Program feedback, including process improvements, updates to standards documentation, and tooling improvements.
Provide governance, leadership, oversight, and management of regional level programs and initiatives.
Ensure project and program stakeholder and sponsor awareness.
Lead, coach, and mentor Datacenter Critical Environment Management teams conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on incidents and outages to ensure presentation to leadership is ready, all aspects are accounted for, and lessons learned propagated to other sites.
Provide additional on-site support to Critical Environment personnel as needed during incidents, critical work periods, etc.
Monitor the campus/metro risk profile, advise on action plans to reduce overall level of risk, and report/trend progress.
Ensure sites follow Microsoft policies, standards, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and guidelines.
Consult on Critical Environment related policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure they are aligned with current industry best practices, requirements, and learnings across Datacenter Operations.
Assist with the establishment of new DC metro areas within the region by training and onboarding new CE personnel.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3+ years experience in Program and Project Management in large complex, cross-functional technology organizations (e.g., IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure).
4+ years technical engineering experience related to Critical Environments Operations, Maintenance & Program Governance.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
To promote health and safety in the workplace, employees are subject to required health related screenings, such as hearing testing, which includes both baseline testing and annual retests, where permitted by applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with the operation of building cooling, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems
Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades
Experience in structured process improvement and efficiency gains (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls & frameworks.
Experience developing and maintaining Technical and Program level content across various layers in an organization.
Data Center Operations Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $125,400 - $224,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $166,000 - $249,000 per year.
