Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and brings some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space along with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape. Join our dynamic events team at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU as a Convention Services Administrative Assistant , where your passion for events will flourish. This role is a launchpad for those eager to grow in the vibrant world of event planning and convention services management. You'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating memorable events, providing indispensable support to ensure each detail is executed with precision and flair.
- Be the backbone of event operations, managing correspondence, and providing stellar assistance to guests and our event management team.
- Bring order to chaos by expertly organizing and maintaining files and schedules, ensuring seamless coordination of our event services.
- Serve as the communication nexus, promptly and professionally handling phone calls and inquiries, channeling your enthusiasm for events in every interaction.
- Immerse yourself in the coordination of event logistics, from intricate site visits to managing banquet event orders (BEOs) and group logistics.
- Act as a bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.
- Dive into various software tools, showcasing your tech-savvy skills in managing event details and client communications.
- Flex your problem-solving muscles, addressing and resolving challenges with creativity and poise.
- Champion the Omni culture on property and enthusiastically promote the hotel and company.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent field of study.
- 1+ years of previous experience in a hotel or resort setting.
- 1+ years of previous experience as an administrative assistant is preferred.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
- Prior experience with Delphi FDC and Salesforce is preferred.
- Proactive and comfortable with both phone and email correspondence.
- Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and the ability and comfort to communicate with customers and internal associates at all levels.
- Must be flexible with schedule to work include some weekends.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including sedentary seated computer work, standing for periods of time, and walking the property, and occasionally conducting work that includes lifting and moving objects of up to 50 pounds.
*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
