Job Summary:

As a Patient Service Center Representative II, you will create a positive patient experience by accurately and efficiently handling day-to-day operations related to financial clearance and scheduling. This includes adhering to departmental policies and procedures, verifying eligibility/benefits, handling pre-authorization requirements, providing payment options, offering financial counseling, and performing other identified financial clearance-related duties. Additionally, you'll be responsible for full scheduling duties. Occasionally, you may be assigned to complex pre-registration tasks. You'll be expected to develop a thorough understanding of your assigned functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Complete both scheduling and registration functions for patients during a single call.
- Schedule appointments promptly and provide essential information (e.g., test preparation, directions, order management).
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information, secure payment for financial liabilities, and perform collection efforts.
- If assigned to order management, verify the order's completeness and match it with the scheduled procedure, including indexing and exporting physician orders to the correct account number.
- If assigned to complex pre-registration, collect and verify required patient demographic and financial data, determine financial responsibility, secure pre-payment for future services, and complete pre-certification requirements by obtaining authorization from insurers and/or healthcare facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Two or more years of college (or equivalent professional customer service experience) and completion of a related medical certification program (preferred).
- Telephone/call center, pre-registration, scheduling, and 2-3 years of customer service experience (preferred).
- Ability to work in a production-driven call-center environment, multitask across multiple systems simultaneously, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with working with dual computer monitors and basic typing ability.
- Working knowledge of a Windows-based computer environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

- Primarily seated work, using computers and answering telephone calls.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Office and hospital work environments.
