Job description
Aleknagik Technology, LLC is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Journeyman Systems Administrator for the Army Food Management System program at Ft. Lee, VA. The Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) provides automated support to control the management and operation of the Army's food service program. AFMIS provides the users with the capability to order, receipt, inventory, and invoice Class I supplies to include field rations. AFMIS supports the operation of Dining Facilities for Menu Planning, Production and Recipe Management, Automated Head Count, and cash collection.
Duties:
- Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
- Capable of managing the servers, which typically involves installing and upgrading the servers, as well as solving any kind of problems with the systems.
- Provide the essential software support for the laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers, including the configuration of the hardware devices, testing new software, and designing the structure of the network.
- Capable of monitoring the system configuration, including the server event log. Must be capable of testing the operating system software, the networking software and also the computer hardware .
- Capable of monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline
- BS Degree and three years of relevant experience. Minimum IAT level one accreditation. Minimum of two years of experience with Windows Server (2008 R2- 2012 R2) administration.
- Three Additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications may be substituted for the degree. Continuous improvement skills preferred to include AGILE LEAN skills/training.
- US Citizen; able to pass government background check.
