Job description
University of Pittsburgh Physicians seeks Physician’s Assistant, Specialist (multiple openings) in Pittsburgh, PA to obtain history from patients, complete head to toe physical exam. Order diagnostic tests such as blood works, imaging with CT scans, MRIs and x-rays. Interpret work-up results, formulate differential diagnosis and later narrowing down to a specific diagnosis and etiology. Formulate treatment plan with pharmacology, recommend procedural intervention, physical therapy, blood product transfusions or other modalities. Pronounce death and complete death certificates. Consult specialist, discuss patients’ conditions and recommendations. Educate patients and families on disease process, treatment plan, prognosis and prevention. Communicate with emergency department in obtaining sign-outs, accept admissions on behalf of supervising physician. Complete H&P, consult note, prognosis and discharge note. May require working overnight shifts. Position requires working at multiple locations throughout Lawrence, Mercer, Allegheny, Butler, and Somerset Counties, Pennsylvania.
