Apple’s AIML organization is looking for a Program Manager to lead our sponsorship of and presence at the world’s top conferences on machine learning and artificial intelligence. This role requires the ability to build positive relationships, initiate robust organizational change, and coordinate across cross-functional partners. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can strategize and implement in a constantly evolving environment. This teammate will use collaboration and partnership to impact engagement across multiple teams.

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to conferences on a regular basis to complete core program priorities.
Description
The Conferences Program Manager is responsible for running Apple’s annual calendar of conference sponsorships and research presence at top machine learning conferences. You will plan the year’s sponsorship strategy based on internal priorities, and evaluate incoming requests, and communicate directly with organizers for conferences, workshops, and external I&D groups as their direct point of contact for Apple. The role manages the program budget, liaising directly with vendors to initiate payment and working with Apple Finance on quarterly forecasting and actuals.
You will lead the internal communication strategy to encourage Apple attendance at top conferences, track attendance and manage attendee experience, as well as work closely with research partners to highlight recently published work at venues. In partnership with Recruiting, you will own our in person presence at our top sponsored conferences, and lead the logistics of smaller sponsorships year-round. The conferences PM has the opportunity to travel internationally, representing Apple at top conferences, leading the Apple employee experience, and conducting market research.
To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating their work to all partners and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while digging into the details on specific issues.
- Identify project scope, constraints, dependencies, and risks and complete projects.
- Oversee a complex budget with rolling deadlines and various stakeholders.
- Exhibit outstanding presentation skills (written and verbal) and stakeholder management with both internal and external partners.
- Source and oversee development of machine learning research content for recruiting booths at conferences.
- Travel to top venues around the world to coordinate Apple’s on-site research presence, in collaboration with recruiting.
- Facilitate opportunities for Apple researchers to connect with conference attendees and showcase the latest Apple research in the field.
- Build and manage partnerships with critical external collaborators, such as Inclusion and Diversity groups.
- Collaborate with Recruiting, Recruiting Events, Corporate Communications, and Product Marketing to ensure the Apple and AI/ML brands are represented to Apple standards.
- Gather and communicate program status, metrics, and key results clearly to leadership and executive team on a regular basis.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,500.00 and $223,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
