Job description
Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Troy, MI
Salary: $85k-$105k + Relocation $$

- Responsible for design, documentation, programming, and building of custom robotic Automation Systems
- Documentation of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, cooling systems (schematics, ladder diagrams, etc.)
- Work with control systems design teams to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with goals of enhanced safety/functionality, and reduced cost
- Machine labeling syntax of electrical wiring, components, hoses, etc., documenting in schematics, , Interfacing with devices (Analog, Fieldbus, Ethernet, Device Net), Component sizing and wiring
- Troubleshoot and Debug, verify mechanical and programming functionality meets customers requirements and our high standards of quality
- Work with customers in weekly meetings- detail progress, answer questions. Project management from inception to close out
- 2+ Years in Automation/Controls/Robotics- delivering on technical projects
- 2+ years with GM manufacturing control systems design, build, start-up, 2+ years PLC logic and programming (Preferably Allen Bradly Studio 5000, TIA Portal, Siemens is a plus
- Proficient with AutoCAD/E-Plan to design controls & electrical hardware specific to customer requirements
- Able to develop PLC programs from scratch, industrial panel design & components experience
- Power distribution wiring experience, HMI design
- GM Common controls hardware/software/architecture (GCCS, GCCH), Green Lock, tooling systems - Knowledge of GM Mfg. processes: GA & Body shops, quality systems, plant floor systems including (Error Proofing, Production Monitoring and Control, Andon Systems, Upload/Download, Compare, Throughput, Material Call)
*Ability to travel to OEM, plant sites up to 30% of the year within US (Duration of Travel 2-3 weeks avg), ability to work weekends during non-production times to meet customer expectations
