Responsibilities:
- Evaluate loan applications and determine the creditworthiness of applicants
- Interview loan applicants to gather necessary financial information and documentation
- Analyze the applicant's financial status, credit history, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans
- Review loan agreements to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
- Provide guidance and advice to clients regarding loan options and terms
- Assist clients in completing loan applications and gathering required documentation
- Collaborate with underwriters, appraisers, and other professionals to facilitate the loan approval process
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and changes in lending practices
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Loan Officer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of lending procedures, regulations, and guidelines (TILA, Fair Housing regulations)
- Familiarity with accounting software and 10-key typing skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze credit reports and financial statements for credit analysis purposes
- Proficient in basic math calculations for loan calculations
- Knowledge of FNMA guidelines for mortgage loans is preferred
- Understanding of mortgage servicing processes
