Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
The principal objective of the Operations Finance Manager (OFM) is to support the Managing Director (MD), and respective Division Leaders (DL) in their implementation of both tactical and long-term strategy for the area/office(s). Accomplishing this objective to the satisfaction of the MD is of primary importance.
The Operations Finance Manager interacts with employees at every level within the organization, from Project Accountant to Principal.
General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. (other duties may be assigned).
- Partner with MD to provide financial analysis to support the performance goals of the area. This will include producing weekly and monthly reporting and relaying information to MDs as required.
- Monitor and manage office financials including TranSystems key metrics (utilization, net revenue multiplier, labor factor), overhead costs (labor and expenses), and profit and loss.
- Support the Regional Business Operations Manager (RBOM) with regional initiatives at the area level.
- Support the MD and DLs to assess operations at an area/office level.
- Review and approval of project budgets and anticipated adjustments for system update.
- Oversight of accounts receivable at an area level with a goal to maintain 60 days sales outstanding as a corporate goal.
- Works with MDs and PMs to monitor financial and project performance, ensuring the overall success of projects and ultimately, each of their offices. Combines leadership and mentoring skills in assisting MDs and PMs to establish and satisfy realistic performance goals.
- Oversight of advanced and deferred billing at an area level. Maintenance of advanced and deferred billing will be through leadership of the Project Management meetings to review projects with Project Managers a monthly audit of financials as well as review of any outstanding risks to meeting project deliverables and deadlines, troubleshooting any “out of scope” issues. Also maintaining a watch list of potential projects that may require adjustment in the future.
- Develop and maintain an area level budget for offices within the respective area.
- Team management at the office and area level. This position will have direct reports.
- Conduct strategic knowledge-sharing operations meetings with the DL, MD, and Regional Vice President.
- Provide input to MD on strategic planning upon request, including participating in proposal/fee development and RFQ Go/No-Go discussions.
- Office standardization - real estate & lease management (with RBOM support).

- Ability to balance, delegate, and prioritize multiple day-to-day and ongoing projects simultaneously in an organized manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of common business processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable/invoicing, financial reporting, etc.
