Summary

Coordinates and oversees moderately complex customer projects.

Projects require coordination and collaboration with numerous functional areas to meet critical objectives under pressing timelines. Serves as the customer representative for primarily level 1, 2 and 3 projects and develops and monitors comprehensive up-to-date work plans for all project work segments including schedule milestones, expenditures, and budget estimates and variances.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements - Customer Project Representative:

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications: Computer skills: Windows, Word Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera. Proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables. Basic electricity course and drafting/CAD experience. Successful completion of college Algebra. Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills. Organization, project management, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. May require Emergency response support for unusual or emergency situations, such as summer storms and/or other catastrophic events

Major Accountabilities

1) Perform as project representative for moderately complex projects (primarily level 1, 2 and 3 projects which typically include new services, moderate-scope power extensions, smaller multi-family units or developments, and other smaller commercial customers). Plan, schedule, and coordinate all facets of the project from initiation through construction, energization and close out. Ensure consideration is given for the best company source of power and most cost-effective design and adhering to the specified area as requested by the city for new installs, upgrades or relocations.

2) Perform planning, designing, scheduling, and coordinating all facets of the project from initiation through construction, energization, and close-out.

3) Effectively interface with customers/developers, internal departments, and municipalities to assess their needs, determine the scope of the project, obtain plans, maps, and or drawings. Determine the layout of company facilities, consulting with external customers and/or municipality liaison and /or internal Planning and Operations as needed.

4) Determine the need to obtain easements from property owners and permits from municipal authorities; process through APS right of way to obtain required easement and permit documents; and design the project and preparing drawings.

5) Gain and utilize knowledge of staking jobs in the field. Obtain easements from the property owner. Design the project and prepare conceptual drawings or coordinate with design department.

6) Prepare the work authorization (WA) and the estimates for both labor and material. When required, prepare extension agreements/contracts, coordinate request for feasibility studies, invoicing, and obtain approvals.

7) Conduct various inspections prior to and during construction such as trenching, conduit, walls/fences, foundation pads, metering equipment and on-site visits to ensure the project is on schedule, and within code and company specifications.

8) Trouble shoot and resolve routine problems encountered. Keep other company departments informed of activities that affect current and future facilities.

9) Update related project management and customer information databases and close out the project upon completion.

10) Contribute to the development and fostering of strong working relationships and partnerships with internal departments, customers, and outside companies.

11) Works under moderate supervision.
