Salary Range: $61,400-$81,800
At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Position Summary Successful Operations Process Owners demonstrate natural leadership skills, are creative, confident in understanding various operational processes, flexible and confident when working solely or as part of a team, able to manage their time effectively and are comfortable working in an ever changing, challenging environment.
The Operations Process Owner is a subject matter expert on multiple operations business functions and serves in a support function for Operations. The Operations Process Owner will act as a liaison, providing insight and ongoing operational support and knowledge, to IT, Finance and other teams within the Bank. The Operations Process Owner can explain how a process works, the related controls and any other part of the process that would be beneficial to create a lift. The Operations Process Owner is the system expert and understands the related operational processes that support the day-to-day processing and is an expert on how resulting information is passed to or or received from customers and other related business units throughout the Bank.
Primary Accountabilities - Expert on operational processes, the core banking system, and surrounding applications related to deposit operations including transaction processing and documentation, debit card activities, IRA accounts, exception item processing, and escheatment.
- Participate in researching, responding to, and closing Event Reports/Exception Tracking Reports.
- Facilitate time studies to monitor capacity requirements for various operational processes.
- Perform regular reviews of process performance and capability within Operations, as well as, those business units with connecting processes.
- Facilitate process improvement activities.
- Acts as a liaison for Operations in audits and exams by speaking to the process and its oversight; providing any required deliverables including reports/lists developed by performing system queries.
- Plan, facilitate and perform system release testing and training, providing feedback throughout the process.
- Drives merger and acquisition related activities for Operations’ functional business areas, including product and data mapping, analysis and system testing.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on any project affecting operational processes.
- Manage inter-departmental projects related to operational processes.
- As a system expert, escalates any issues that may arise that may have widespread implications.
- Functions as a partner/liaison between Operations and other Midland teams as needed.
- Researches and resolves in a timely manner all system issues surfaced from business partners.
- Change Control.
- The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications Education/Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years relevant banking experience and/or knowledge within deposit operations.
