Job description
As a Project Accountant you will be responsible with focusing on financial transactions related to supporting Project Managers and Project Teams with managing all costs, billing clients, reviewing contractual values, generating reports, and supporting overall job health.
- Maintain accurate contract, job, and budget data within the ERP system and maintain fully executed and accurate compliant auditable files.
- Cost management of all Labor, Materials, Expenses, and Subconsultants.
- Perform direct job-related cost adjustments within the ERP system as approved.
- Prepare, post, and deliver client ready billing and invoice packages in an efficient monthly schedule.
- Review job financial reports for cost accuracy and reasonableness, conduct weekly audit review and monitoring of potential issues and cash receipt postings.
- Ensure procedures and best practices are adhered to throughout the project accounting process.
- Continually assessing WIP reports and managing change with the Project Manager.
- Support forecast projection completions to meet month end deadlines.
- Submit Month end delivered WIP reports to Finance Management.
- Perform close out check list for jobs and contracts.
- Support Project Managers and Project Teams for varies financial requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Three (3) years of cost accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP software.
- Excel and analytical skills, including experience with formulas and pivot tables.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint.
- Cost accounting experience with a focus on construction.
- Strong understanding of construction industry cost structures and dynamics.
