About the job:
The Bodyshop Technician provides automotive repairs related to removal, replacement, repair and preparation of damaged components, and aligns vehicle frames/unibody components to manufacture specifications, and works within manufacturer and industry established quality and time standards. Complies with manufacturer and dealer safety and environmental programs and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Works with body shop management to develop and achieve challenging individual goals for production and quality work.
- Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
- Completes repair assignments correctly to pass quality inspections, preparation standards for painting department, and per agreed upon estimate.
- Actively listens to concerns; takes action to respond to others' needs.
- Provides clear and legible record of service completed or additional repairs needed for both customer and dealership use.
- Assists estimators and service advisors as necessary to explain repairs to customers or determine estimates.
- Completes repair orders within specified time frame, foresees delays, and alerts appropriate personnel promptly.
- Coordinates with parts counterperson to ensure parts are available to complete repair in time allotted.
- Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment; ensures facility is clean and organized at all times.
- Performs factory warranty repairs according to established procedures.
- Reviews and evaluates service write-up to determine if additional information is necessary and what type of diagnosis is needed.
- Completes warranty repair orders according to policy.
- Uses diagnostic procedure to identify the symptoms of problem, the conditions under which they occur, the OASIS symptom codes that are appropriate for the symptoms as well as how often the symptoms occur.
Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge in using the tools required to perform repairs and services.
- Minimum of High School degree or equivalent
- College or automotive vocational training certification preferred
- Must have a driver's license
- ASC certification preferred.
- ICAR certification preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience in an automotive service environment (4 or more years preferred).
