The Systems Integration Specialist supports the engineering team with the development, implementation, and maintenance of plant floor systems, computer networks, telecommunications, and other information systems in support of the manufacturing operations. Participate in a creative and innovative environment to lead Richmond in driving efficiency in order to reduce costs. Work with Global Technology Group to maximise the best communication systems used in industry today.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Infrastructure support including implementation of all integration projects.
- Under the direction of the Plant Systems Integrator, support building system competencies.
- Provide technical support to update the configuration of the computerized systems.
- Deliver training and assist with troubleshooting.
- Assist with defining new, more efficient processes and system capabilities in the plant.
- Assist with supporting the enforcement of standards that ensure global consistency of manufacturing and integration systems.
- Actively participate and support the plant system’s network.
- Follow through on problem determination, prioritization, resolution, and closure of reported issues.
- Document solutions and update the knowledge database.
- Assist with database development and maintenance (SQL, InSQL).
- Works with corporate and external resources to develop, install, and maintain SAP xMII interface applications.
- Utilize Wonderware MES client modules to improve the throughput and efficiency of plant operations.
- Maintain and expand current technical expertise to include PLC & controls programming and troubleshooting.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
Basic qualifications include:
- Associates degree or equivalent in engineering, supply chain operations and/or IT or a related technical field.
- Proficiency with SAP usage (or a comparable ERP system) and knowledge of transactions (Production Orders, Production Confirmations, Material Movements, Quality notifications).
- Ability to configure and work with various databases exchanging information through the network between IT systems and control systems in manufacturing departments.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, supply chain operations, or IT, or related field.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and core processes.
- Understanding of: Production planning and scheduling, Plant floor control system concepts, Inventory management fundamentals, SPC concepts, Planned maintenance concepts, Plant metrics, Reporting requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment automation issues.
Expected Areas of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix software
- Ability to teach, coach and mentor facility technical resources and point people.
- Ability to support on-call rotation schedule
- Ability to adjust schedule to fit project startup and production needs
- Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a continual basis and work in a standard office environment
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Grade Range: $32 - $36 USD per hour
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

- Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
- Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
