Job description
Manlius Pebble Hill (MPH) seeks an innovative, intellectually curious, and empathetic teacher for its Biology and Life Science classes. MPH places the health and well-being of its students at the center of its program, prioritizing the importance of building relationships and nurturing an intellectually playful environment, and the successful candidate will be able to reflect and demonstrate those priorities in their pedagogy. We seek candidates who can enhance our co-curricular offerings in athletics, the performing arts, and other activities within and beyond the school day. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise a group of 8-12 students and facilitate or co-facilitate two clubs during the course of the regular school day schedule. The ideal candidate will be creatively responsive to student needs, have a demonstrated willingness to participate in the life of the school, and relish being a joyful presence in the lives of young people in and out of the classroom.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach a full course load of five sections, in some combination of seventh grade Life Science and ninth grade Biology. The successful candidate will be eager to join a Science Department that is committed to hands-on, data-focused, and inquiry-driven learning, and excited to skillfully guide and supervise students as they collect, analyze, and draw conclusions from their data.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package with the potential for growth depending on experience and qualifications. At least two years of classroom experience with high school or college students is preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in biology or a related field is preferred.
