2024 Summer Internship Program
IPRO’s Summer Internship Program is an eight-week experience for college students to gain hands on work experience and insight inside a multifaceted nonprofit healthcare organization. We are looking for college students interested in gaining exposure and practical experience in the healthcare industry. Students will be working out of IPRO offices located in Lake Success, NY and Albany, NY.

IPRO is a non-profit organization that works with government agencies, providers, and patients to implement innovative programs that bring policy ideas to life. IPRO makes creative use of clinical expertise, emerging technology, and data solutions to make the healthcare system work better. IPRO holds contracts with federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private-sector clients, in more than 34 states and the District of Columbia.

Department overviews:
Managed Care
IPRO’s Managed Care Department has worked at the forefront of performance measurement and improvement, combining the dual values of scientific evidence and the practical experiences of states and managed care plans. As the External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) for 10 state governments, we work with over 125 managed care plans that provide managed physical, behavioral, dental, HIV and long-term care. Our measurement and improvement knowledge has impacted people across all Medicaid eligibility categories, geographic areas, and risk groups related to age, race, ethnicity, language, and ability.

Eng Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
The mission of the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network Program is to promote health care for all ESRD patients that is safe, effective, efficient, patient-centered, timely, and equitable. IPRO operates four of the 18 ESRD networks, Network 1 (New England), Network 2 (New York), Network 6 (South Atlantic) and Network 9 (Ohio River Valley).
Strategic Solutions
The Strategic Planning group is responsible for defining the organization’s strategic direction and overall corporate goals and priorities. We work closely with the CEO, senior management team, and the Strategic Planning committee of the Board of Directors in developing and overseeing the implementation of the corporate strategic plan. Additional group activities include developing and oversight of the annual corporate goals as well as staffing of the Strategic Planning committee of the Board of Directors.
The hourly pay for hires into our 2024 internship opening is $16.
