Job description
UPMC Corporate Legal is hiring a Manager, Risk Management to join our team! This position works Monday through Friday during daylight business hours. Assists in the implementation of risk liability claims programs. As well as assisting in the planning, developing and monitoring of clinical program services and clinical staff and administration to define risk and liability management at the business level. The Manager will ensure compliance with UPMC corporate policies.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate UPMC system-wide product/device recall process.
- Coordinate UPMC system-wide reporting to regulatory agencies (state, federal, JCAHO) with regard to reportable clinical events, sentinel events, disclosure, etc.
- Coordinate management of risk management data (case reviews, sentinel events, action plans, reported events, etc.) for all UPMC entities.
- Coordinate UPMC system wide risk management education.
- Evaluate clinical policies to assure consistency across/within all UPMC entities.
- Ensure risk management compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.
- Track events to identify sentinel event trends across/within UPMC.
- Work with UPMC leadership to identify unique or system-wide areas of clinical risk.
- Coordinate/supervise risk management activities across/within UPMC.
- Coordinate dissemination of lessons learned from UPMC sentinel events.
- Work with Director, Risk Management to identify risk producing events and adopt risk reduction policies and procedures across/within UPMC.
- Coordinate/standardize event/incident reporting across/within UPMC.
