This high visibility, critical role provides overall product line and product management leadership and ensures our product direction is in line with the business and portfolio direction. This position works cross-functionally to plan product road maps, secure resources and execute product development projects. This is a leadership role that leads a team of product managers to product development and launch success.
Highlights of your role
- Identifies and proposes strategy, technologies, methodologies, and best practices to provide consistent visibility into active project status as well as future priorities.
- Builds and implements end-to-end product management practices, processes, methodologies and tools that are aligned to Marvin's business and strategies.
- Creates an environment of cross-functional collaboration, transparency, and accountability for the Strategy team.
- Providing strategic and tactical management and leadership to ensure projects proceed on schedule.
- Monitoring the efficiencies of current operational processes and identify and/or lead opportunities for improvement.
- Manages product lines/collection strategies in relationship to the overall portfolio & business direction
- Leads the development of strategy for dept and business area of product line(s) and/or New Venture multi-year strategy development & execution
- Ensures the appropriate mix of projects are active to achieve revenue & profitability goals
- Prioritizes mix & scope of projects to maximize product development ROI for the organization
- Partners with marketing leadership to ensure proper plans & resources to support product launch objectives
- Facilitates individual development, career growth & performance coaching
Product Management Leadership (55%)
- Provide marketing leadership to cross-functional development teams, ensuring that the customer stays at the center
- Manages leaders working on a portfolio of projects in development, tracking and assuring business objectives
- Represent Voice of the Customer through a Stage-Gate product development process
- Ensure project teams quickly reach decisions that help balance customer and business objectives
- Translate product launch core benefits to inform successful go-to-market strategies
- Ownership of pricing strategy for each new product launch, with assistance of Pricing Department
Marketing, Sales & Service Partnership (5%)
- Support departmental improvement initiatives
- Input into monthly & annual planning, forecasting and goal-setting
- Partner to ensure that training, marketing material, etc., communicates product value & differentiation in a compelling way
Strategic Insights Management (5%)
- Monthly Sales Analysis (by geography, insights, programs, share gains, etc.)
- Partnership with Marketing and Sales to Correct or add Focus
You're a good fit if you have
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing or related
- MBA with a marketing emphasis is highly desired
- 10+ years of related and successful work experience in new product development and product portfolio management
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
