The Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is seeking a Deputy Director to join our team. Headquartered in Boise, PERSI is a public pension fund with approximately $22 billion in assets and 170,000 members at 875 public employers in Idaho. PERSI's mission is to provide a sound retirement system and high-quality service and education to help Idaho public employees build a secure retirement. Deputy Director Purpose:
Plan, organize, direct and control the internal operations of PERSI under the direction of the Executive Director; act as chief assistant to the Director and manage special projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management - Responsible for the management of internal operations of PERSI including answer center, processing center, information systems, fiscal (including employer support center), Defined Contribution plan program and communications;

Assistant to the Director - Act for the Director, in his/her absence; with the Director, participate in the PERSI legislative program by performing research, report development and testimony before committees, as needed; with the Director, meet with various employer, employee and retiree constituent groups to discuss PERSI issues and to provide information; maintain necessary working relationship with Board members; summarize data and statistics into charts and reports that explain benefits, trends and demographics of the system; participate as a member of PERSI executive staff and conduct staff meetings; conduct research of other public retirement systems in comparison to PERSI; keep the Director apprised of status of operations;

Special Projects - Responsible for the overall planning effort to manage large comprehensive special projects assigned by the Director; project management and coordination of major projects such as re-engineering and information systems projects; coordination of broad membership communications and education efforts; perform research and feasibility studies on various items of interest to the Director and Board; keep informed on latest events in the retirement industry; may work with and coordinate the actuarial services on various projects; conduct on-going studies including assessment of service levels, internal controls, productivity and staff development.
