Electrical Engineer (Racine, WI)

Our client, a manufacturer of Commercial & Industrial Water Solutions, is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer (Direct Hire). Incumbent in this role is retiring. One of three candidate profiles will be considered: 1) An experienced Electrical Engineer, 2) An Electrical Designer that knows AutoCAD Electrical, or, 3) Entry level candidates (see #1 or #2).

SUMMARY: Perform electrical control system design, component selection, programming, and documentation for a variety of water treatment systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

Works closely with the controls staff, manufacturing, and engineering to verify and validate operational readiness and quality of products.

Review project requirements and documentation, and compare to panel builds, BOM’s, and schematics.

Test, troubleshoot, or confer with peers to identify resolution of identified concerns or issues in the electrical or other system design

Support activities associated with design, continuous improvement, research and development, and department documentation.

Occasional field and/or technical service support.

Design two-dimensional panel layouts of electrical control panels for a variety of water treatment control systems, including softeners, pump skids, and RO systems.

Create and maintain bills of material and document engineering changes and change orders due to design modifications, supply chain availability concerns, or other required updates

PLC and HMI programming for a wide range of water treatment systems developed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or closely related field. Candidate with an Associate's Degree may also be considered.

Minimum of 2 years combined experience working with control systems. The right entry level candidate may be considered.

Familiarity with VFD’s, PLC’s, electronic components, and instrumentation.

Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell Connected Components Workbench, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk View preferred).

General knowledge of quality practices and equipment assembly, is preferred.

Understanding of electrical codes such as NFPA, NEC, and UL508A, and their applications to component specifications.
