| Position Summary | Caribou Thunder is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Configuration Manager to join our dynamic engineering team. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to planning and execution of programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. |
| Complete Description | Plans and evolves processes and infrastructure to execute programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Functions with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback. Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.Your role will involve conducting in-depth analysis and assessment of risks and vulnerabilities to determine appropriate remediations and mitigations. - You will also be responsible for testing and integrating security patches and updates into the systems, as well as administering and building dashboards to monitor the security posture of the systems.
- Additionally, you will be expected to have a deep understanding of cyber-hardening practices for operating systems and network equipment, leveraging tools such as Splunk, Regex, ACAS, HBSS, and Wireshark. Your proficiency in NIST Special Publication 800-53, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution, and secure configuration and hardening of DoD Information Systems will be vital to the success of the team.
- You will be responsible for briefing complex cyber security principles to individuals at all levels of knowledge and skill, as well as briefing high-level customer stakeholders on cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
- Your ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements, along with experience performing vulnerability assessments, will further enhance your effectiveness in this role.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate and analyze system architecture and security design.
- Provide technical leadership and support modifications related to the design and accreditation of new mission capabilities.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and assessment of risks and vulnerabilities to determine appropriate remediations and mitigations.
- Test and integrate security patches and updates into the systems.

- Utilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancements

| Minimum Requirements | - Mid Level - Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Principal Level - Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Intermediate Linux OS experience
- Intermediate Python, Perl or shell scripting
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work multiple tasks concurrently
- Comfortable working with software tools
- Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
- Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
