Job description
Our client happily services California from three locations: Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, and Livermore. We are a well-established Professional Engineering and Land Surveying business looking for a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer.

As a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer, you will give general guidance to your team while carrying out difficult drafting tasks that involve the use of engineering design, drawing techniques, and computer-aided design (CAD) software. As a Licensed Professional, you will create precise drawings for engineering projects, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering design concepts. As the Licensed Professional, collaborate with your team to complete complex and detailed hydrology calculations based on the completed grading and drainage design plans, as well as address plan check comments from the reviewing agency, plan revisions requested by the client and/or the contractor, responding to project-related inquiries, and receiving phone calls to discuss the design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various members of the project design team, including colleagues, clients, architects, project team contractors, owners, and designers, to coordinate civil design.
- Provide assistance to team members while doing engineering and design services as a licensed professional.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to produce civil packages, including grading and drainage designs for driveways, building pads, and erosion and sediment management plans.
- Perform complicated hydrologic calculations and hydraulic evaluation of proposed drainage features for permit filing.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce civil design drawings.
- Perform on-site assessments, construction observation and inspections, and project site reviews for Civil Engineering projects.
- Receive and respond to customer, consultant, and contractor calls.
- Discuss possible new projects with prospective clients, and create professional service agreements for Civil Engineering Related services.
- Communicate with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and other parties involved in the design process. Conduct site inspections before and after the grading design is finished to examine current field conditions and check general conformity with authorized plans. Provide a Final Letter.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Can successfully interact with clients, consultants, and project team members.
- Expertise in using engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Blue Beam, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Works effectively in a collaborative atmosphere and allocates tasks efficiently.
- Highly driven, eloquent, and self-starting.
- Use of engineering concepts, such as critical thinking, analysis, and inventive ways
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced team setting.
Education: B.S. or better in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
Experience: 2-4 years as Licensed Civil PE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
