Our client, an innovative global leader in the dental manufacturing industry, is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and looking for an
Entry-Level Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis to help continue their pattern of growth.
Entry-Level Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Category Manager, manage product line hierarchy by maintaining competitive product database including product profiles and comparisons
- Maintain product specifications for all company branded, manufacturer branded product lines and on-line catalog database to support electronic sales materials
- Maintain records of all supplier contracts and program agreements. Review contracts, pricing quotations and bid process as required
- Source new items at direction of Category Manager and advise on availability, costing and service program details
- Interface and coordinate with all suppliers in communications, handling issues, planning and corporate purchasing programs and buying parameters for all participating suppliers
- Oversee supplier management scorecard, highlighting issues for Category Manager
- Work closely with Procurement as part of overall supplier management program
- Provide marketing and sales support by managing literature needs with suppliers
- At the direction of the Category Manager, assist with product launches and product penetration programs
- Oversee rebate process by managing database set up, updates, accuracy and tracking
Entry-LevelPurchasing Assistant Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or general business is preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in purchasing or an internship within supply chain
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
