Job description
The Math & Science Center Summer Institute Resident Assistants will live in a residence hall and supervise approximately 30 to 40 high school students who are participating in a six-week educational institute at KU during the summer. Each Resident Assistant is assigned a group of 10-14 students, but is responsible for supervising every student. The Resident Assistants are required to reside in the designated residence hall with the Math & Science Center students for the duration of the appointment, and maintain 24-hour residency 6 days a-week for six weeks. This position reports directly to the Director of the program. The Resident Assistants must be able to tutor, counsel, teach, supervise, and be a positive role model. In addition, the successful candidate will adhere to the principles of promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in education.
The Summer Institute dates are 06/02-07/12/2024, with orientation scheduled on 05/30-5/31/2024. RA must be available 24 hours a day (Sunday 4:30PM through Friday 5:00PM). The salary for the RA positions: $15--$17 per hour plus room, board, and meals.Job tags
