Job description
Work will be onsite in Daly City, CA for the first 6 months. Thereafter, the candidate can work from home 2 days/week. Local candidates preferred. Client is unable to sponsor H1-B visas at this time.
The Professional Billing (PB) Application Analyst ensures that Epic Professional Billing product is effectively and efficiently deployed, managed, and used. They will build on their depth knowledge of both Epic and/or relevant inhouse applications to help users leverage the billing and claims functionalities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understands Medicare, Medi-Cal, FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center), State, local programs, and private insurances regulations
- Provides EPIC EPM technical support and training to medical, dental, optometry, laboratory, radiology departments front desk and member services staffs
- Supports configurations and system settings in using Epic Professional Billing product based on FQHC regulations and rules
- Resolving complex trouble tickets with vendor tech support in addition to identifying and implementing requested changes to the system
- Guiding workflow design, building, and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for organization workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions
- Supporting and managing continuous quality improvement process including troubleshooting programs and questions
- Systematically identify and follow up on quality problems
- Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining improvements to system configuration, training and/or workflows
- Researching, testing, and recommending system/functionality enhancements and upgrades
- Project administration/coordination/management as required in addition to reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis leadership
- Serves as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic representatives
- Creating and maintaining documentation including internal procedure manuals and end-user facing documentation
- Assists with training employees and provides mentorship to entry level staff
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a four-year degree from an accredited university required or at least 4+ years of relevant working experience may be substituted. Master s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in supporting applications in a clinical setting, Preferably Billing Applications
- 1+ year experience in training and support, including creation of training and support manuals
- Epic certification in Professional Billing required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Must have basic to intermediate understanding of FQHC claims structure
- Proficient in MS Office: Excel pivot tables, Visio process diagrams, PowerPoint presentations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex billing scenarios and develop effective solutions.
