Job description
Our outstanding team of committed skills trainers provides one-on-one ABA-based treatment to young children with autism in our clients’ homes, schools, and ABI’s center. With the guidance and ongoing training of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), our skills trainers follow structured teaching plans to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. We provide comprehensive initial and ongoing training and support to each of our skills trainers and offer ongoing opportunities for advancement.
Part-time and full time positions are available. Full time positions require availability from 7am – 7pm Monday through Friday. Part time positions require availability from 7am – 3pm or 12pm – 7pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 9am – 3pm .

- San Fernando Valley
- Santa Clarita Valley
- Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena
- Central Los Angeles (Mid-Wilshire and Koreatown)
Requirements
- Passion and enthusiasm for working with children
- Previous experience working with children
- Prefer, but do not require bachelor’s degree in psychology, child development or a related field
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Willingness to drive to clients’ homes and schools in the greater Los Angeles region
- Pre-Employment Screening, including a Department of Justice Clearance and DMV check
- TB Test
Desired Qualifications
- 12 units in ABA and 1-2 years previous experience
- Korean or Spanish-speaking
- Enrollment in a master’s degree program in psychology or related field
Additional Information
- We provide 40-60 hours of paid training before our skills trainers begin working independently
- Part-time and full time positions are available. Full time positions require availability from 7am – 7pm Monday through Friday. Part time positions require availability from 7am – 3pm or 12pm – 7pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 9am – 3pm .
- Typically, full-time skills trainers work with 3-4 children during the week, ideally in the same general geographic area. Schedules and work locations change frequently to meet the needs of our clients.
- Skills trainers working in client homes may be in contact with dogs, cats and other pets.
- Skills trainers may work with children with aggressive behaviors, such as biting, kicking, spitting, scratching, or hitting. ABI provides initial and ongoing training to our skills trainers to reduce and replace challenging behaviors.
