Overview:
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Technical Staff member for the position of Environmental Compliance Representative who will serve as the primary interface between an ORNL division/directorate and the Environmental Protection Services Division (EPSD). This position resides in the EPSD and within the Environment, Safety, Health and Quality Directorate of ORNL. Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinate the division/directorate efforts to comply with applicable environmental requirements (RCRA, CWA, CAA, etc.).
Communicate environmental regulatory guidance and provide support to the division/directorate.
Communicate environmental regulatory concerns, issues, and findings from their division/directorate to EPSD.
Participate in division/directorate work planning activities to ensure environmental requirements (NEPA, need for environmental permits, etc.) are identified accurately and in a timely manner.
Work with Waste Services Representatives and waste generator to support solid and liquid waste characterization/management/disposition activities.
Participate in inventories, inspections, surveillances, self-assessments, and division/directorate audits when environmental compliance issues are involved.
Develop or assist responsible division/directorate staff in developing corrective action plans and reports in response to environmental compliance audit findings/concerns, as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in science, engineering, or related field with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of environmental protection/compliance principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills; project management; customer service experience
Strong computer, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multi-task.
Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience conducting assessments.
Special Requirements :
Physical Requirements: Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after offer.
HSPD-12 PIV badge: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 PIV badge.
