Position Purpose:

The Admissions Project Specialist is an equity-minded individual with international admissions experience. They have primary responsibilities for the processing and reviewing of applications from prospective international students. The Admission Project Specialist works closely with our Recruitment and Retention Teams assisting prospective and new students through a variety of outreach efforts. They are responsible for reviewing and analyzing admission documentation. The Specialist assists with resolving barriers to enrollment and ensures compliance with related rules and regulations and supports broader department goals and initiatives. The Admissions Project Specialist serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) as defined by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). This person must exhibit cultural humility and agility, with the ability and commitment to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Supervision Statement:

Reports to and works under the supervision of the International Programs Director. Work is performed independently based on previous knowledge and professional judgment, according to local, state and federal regulations, applicable laws, College policies and program guidelines.

This position assists with the coordination of and leads the work of administrative assistants/staff and works in collaboration with other program coordinators and assistant directors. This position assists with work plans, may assign tasks, provides priorities, and assists with training staff.


This position is available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems on a daily basis and may have input into hiring decisions and performance evaluations.



Physical Demands/Working Environment:

This position works indoors under a normal office working environment and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work Safely.
