Responsibilities This is a remote position
The System Director of PE Back Office Revenue Cycle is responsible for implementation and support of system direction, policies, and strategies to create a high performing revenue cycle for
CommonSpirit Health (CSH) Physician Enterprise. This role will be key in monitoring PE back office
revenue cycle performance and leading revenue cycle development and performance with business partners across the revenue cycle. This role will work extensively with CSH PE market leaders, business partners, and CSH System colleagues.
- Provide support and Lead operational and tactical planning and performance monitoring to
create high performing back office revenue cycle for CSH: - Aid in selection and implementation of strategic business partners and solutions,
including RFP, implementation cost budgeting, planned benefit analysis, and related tasks - Implement and support the strategic plans, goals, objectives and budgets for the CSH System revenue cycle that promote leading practices
- Evaluate and revise the standardized back office policies and procedures and institute changes to streamline operations and enhance revenue collections on an on-going basis, while remaining compliant with applicable regulations
- Support of revenue cycle partners to maximize performance
- Track and trend back office revenue cycle performance and participate in discussions forimprovement as applicable
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise across all components of the back office revenue cycle. Provide back office revenue cycle operational leadership:
- Lead efforts to optimize back office revenue cycle processes; standardization within and across technology platforms.
- Assists with the management of vendor relations and contracts coordination. Works
closely with internal and external stakeholders to support alignment of application
rationalization and solution utilization across CSH - Facilitate cross functional relationships with CSH and local market IT, BI, preferred
vendors, and revenue cycle partners - Assumes role as a change leader, handling assigned work and creating process
- methodologies, processes, tools and techniques
- Leading and Developing Teams:
Assembles, advises, evaluates, restructures and coaches team members in a complexmatrix environment - Provides hands-on leadership and expertise to CSH back office teams and any related partners
- Improves team performance by providing feedback, initiating peer assistance, and
assisting in obstacle avoidance - Team with partners’ change leadership to proactively integrate change techniques
- Sets quantitative and qualitative metrics tied to goals and objectives
- Reports progress and evaluates results on an ongoing basis
- Provides guidance and clarity; uses ingenuity and guides others to cope effectively
- Applied Knowledge:
- Applies comprehensive knowledge of back office revenue cycle functions, market
configurations, and system knowledge to refine and improve market performance - Studies industry best practices to bring insight and fresh perspective to CSH's approach to back office revenue cycle
- Collaborate with IT partners to evaluate system upgrades and works with partners to
effectively utilize new functionality available from the upgrade - Adapt and comply with regulation changes. Work with partners to apply changes to the systems and procedures
- Facilitate management of system back office policy and procedures through the creation,revision, modification, and publication
- Support back office revenue cycle audits including but not limited to data capture and action plan completion
- Support and facilitate the smooth transition of back office revenue cycle management
functions in CSH acquisition and divestiture transactions as appropriate:
- Represent back office revenue cycle and provide input to stakeholders involved in the
transaction - Facilitate preferred back office vendor transition in or out of the CSH MSAs
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the interpretation of back office revenue cycle activities
and needs:
- Represent and provide back office subject matter expertise on CSH system, regional, and
market specific committees and work groups
- Lead governance forums with the intent to apply standard approaches and leading
practices across all technology systems and markets
- Collaborate with physician enterprise revenue cycle on strategies, tactics, policy
development, etc. to ensure consistency with overall CSH revenue cycle direction
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Experience Minimum Required and Preferred
- At least 8 years direct patient financial experience with a minimum of 5 years of revenue cycle management related to physician/clinic experience preferred. Will consider applicants with hospital billing in combination with physician billing.
- Practice management or electronic health record technical or operational experience – Epic
experience preferred. - Strong back office RCM operational expertise
- Must be a strategic thinker and insightful decision maker with ability to analyze and solve
problems - Demonstrate leadership skills including the ability to direct changes to existing routines or
practices to meet changing organizational needs - Successful candidate will have a record of accomplishment in building durable working
relationships in a matrix organization - Ability to enhance the physician and clinical department experience by developing and
implementing streamlined, customer-friendly back office revenue cycle processes. - Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to educate and
interact with all levels of healthcare professionals. - PMP certified as applicable
- Epic Certification as applicable
