Job description
Winston Preparatory School seeks an Assistant to support the work of its Development Department in preparation for their annual fundraising gala on May 3, 2024. The Assistant will report to the Director of Development and support the work of the department in all aspects of the planning activities, including: coordinating solicitations and tracking for ticket sales, journal ads, and auction items; communicating with the parent planning committee and donors and; assisting with all of the logistics of hosting the event. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proactive and organized with excellent attention to detail. Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Google Suite is required. Experience with event planning and familiarity with Givesmart or other event planning software is a plus.
Position Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Development Department
Communicate with the parent planning committee, donors, and the designer in the production of the event journal
Assist with tracking and acknowledging journal ad purchases, auction item donations, ticket purchases, and other donations to the event
Assist in all other aspects of special event planning
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred
2+ years proven work history in an office or similar environment
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
Ability to work with a team and independently, paying close attention to detail, and managing multiple projects with deadlines
Professional, enthusiastic, and motivated
Knowledge and experience within a Mac environment
This position is 20 hours a week, beginning February 26, 2024 and ending May 10, 2024. Full-time hours may be requested for the two weeks before the event on May 3, 2024. The position is primarily remote, but the ability to occasionally commute to the Midtown Manhattan office is required. Must have a working internet connection to complete projects and participate in virtual meetings.
