Christiana Care is looking for a full-time Buyer / Plannerto be responsible for the overall management of inventory levels, demand planning, forecasting, purchasing, scheduling, returns, and timely delivery of stocked items for the distribution center operation. Principal duties and responsibilities: Reviews and sets inventory levels using system generated plans and EOQ tools. Creates purchase orders. Manages / tracks item availability, delivery, and potential back orders. Sources alternate items when necessary. Reschedules, expedites, and cancels purchase orders as needed to maintain accurate performance reports Identify cost savings opportunities and process improvements for all aspects of the Supply Chain department by reviewing methodology and processes. Reviews and approves system generated replenishment reports Provide supplier performance feedback and respond to routine supplier performance surveys Communicates any identifiable or potential supply or quality issues or supplier concerns that may impact the quality of customer operations and patient care, or the integrity of supplier data. Periodically review forecasted demand for assigned product categories with relevant materials management and clinical user groups; adjusts forecasted demand to forecasted patient census Processes material returns and coordinates refund activities with other internal departments and supplier. As necessary, analyzes and processes distribution rebates. Maintenance of relevant data into the inventory management and procurement applications. Manage all needed changes as per the appropriate change control procedures. Resolve, when necessary, any accounts payable, supply quality issue, receiving discrepancies and shipping problems that may arise in the areas of responsibility. Maintains assigned performance measurements, records, and reports in the system updated. Hours:Day Shift Education and experience requirements: Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field Seven years of equivalent experience required. Must possess highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and interact with diverse groups. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Working knowledge of inventory control methods and Economic Order Quantity models. Working knowledge of domestic and international purchasing commercial terms. Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data mining Knowledge of Purchasing principles Knowledge of hospital product and understanding of UOM/Packaging strings Knowledge of healthcare purchasing trends Ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of market conditions Ability to demonstrate compliance with System and departmental policies and procedures Ability to establish and cultivate positive interdepartmental working relationships Ability to work independently and in a group setting Ability to deliver financial savings by effectively addressing contract opportunities (rebid, extend, convert, or customize/enhance existing contracts) Ability to exercise judgment, tact and diplomacy Ability to learn and use Material Management Purchasing software and Supply Chain Analytics software Ability to maintain composure, good judgment and acceptable work performance under stressful conditions caused by deadlines, workload, situational crisis, opposition or other causes Skill in oral and written communications About ChristianaCare ChristianaCare was recognized as one of "America's 100 Best Hospitals" by Healthgrades, selected as one of the Most Wired Hospitals in the US by the American Hospital Association, and ranked by US News & World Report as the #3 'Best Hospital' in the Philadelphia region out of more than 90 hospitals.
