If you are a skilled Litigation Associate Attorney with two years or more of experience in employment and/or personal injury litigation for plaintiffs, along with a strong courtroom practice background, this position could be your perfect match. Remote work options could be considered for candidates who meet the necessary criteria.
The compensation package ranges from $70,000 to $120,000, inclusive of incentives, health benefits, and 401(k) contributions. We cover all bar dues and expenses related to Continuous Legal Education, and relocation bonuses may also be on the table.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze legal situations and create strategic plans of action to address clients' needs
- Manage litigation strategies and represent clients in West Virginia's circuit court and federal court
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients involved in employment and personal injury cases
- Draft legal documents and conduct legal research in support of cases
- Communicate with clients and work with legal assistants, paralegals, and other attorneys for pre-trial preparation
- Represent clients at mediation sessions and negotiate settlements on their behalf
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
- Working knowledge of employment laws and procedures
- Able to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling negative or challenging situations
- Familiarity with liens and healthcare reimbursements
- Must have at least three years of employment and/or personal injury litigation experience
- You are licensed to practice law in West Virginia
- OH licensure is preferred but not required
- You are comfortable with technology
- You have a strong desire to help clients through tough times and want to help them get into a better position
- You have strong negotiation skills, the ability to think on your feet, and feel comfortable in a courtroom
- Must be able to work remotely but also be within 1 -1 1/2 hours from one of our locations to attend meetings
- Willing to travel to mediations and depositions throughout the state(s)
