Job description
The Sr. Development Manager will be managing the specific region on all aspects related to the development department. They will be responsible for all processes related to a project from under contract phase until construction start and some aspects of disposition. They will also define the strategy for the department, control process and manage the development team. They will assist in the overall management and successful completion of a project in a timely and cost-effective manner, delivering projects at a high standard of quality, on time and on budget. This position reports directly to the Director of development.

- Define the strategy for the department, number of projects, units permitted and units entitlement.
- Manage the team that is coordinating the projects, making sure we will delivery on time, budget, and quality pre-defined.
- Controls activities and deliverables of the department.
- Manages the due diligence process on deals opportunities and give recommendations on key items that may affect the return and financial performance of the proposed deal.
- Facilitate processes required for due diligence for the purchase of property.
- Responsible for the due diligence reports, strategies, and definition of the risks for executive level.
- Act as liaison between Land Acquisition, Construction, Design and Development to close on property.
- Control de projects acting as owner of the deals.
- Control all proformas for the region, ensuring all the assumptions are validated by the responsible areas.
- Completes various financial, and other reports and analysis, and work with directors and C-level on the strategy for the company.
- Supports the negotiation of sale and purchase agreements for projects in acquisition.
- Support legal team on projects matters
- Maintains on-going communications with the executive team, equity partners, and other key business leaders affiliated with the project to provide periodic updates on the progress against schedule and budgets, surfaces and resolves issues that may compromise the project delivery schedule or costs, and responds quickly and with urgency to questions, concerns, and requests for information.
- Support the team on the coordinate technical analysis with consultants and related department ensuring project success.
- Support the team on project needs and guarantee that this will be considered in the schedule, budget, and drawings.
- Define process and ways to control de information flow.
- Ensures that project procedures are consistent with corporate philosophy.
- Control the department goals and KPIs, making sure the strategy of the department is aligned with the company strategy.
- Assist the department with all tasks necessary in order to ensure goals are accomplished
- Define and train the team guaranteeing their success.
- Identify areas of improvements in Development department and work on update processes
Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning or related field.
- Experience in development management is required. Additional expertise in the fields of architecture and/or engineering desired.
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, plans, plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence of project areas.
- Ability to develop Action Programs and perform according to agreed plans with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) are a must.
- Ability to deal with sensitive/confidential information.
- Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD. Revit / Navisworks, Microsoft Projects desired.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to write memos, reports, presentations, and business correspondence.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
